How to update your iOS device when you don't have much free space on your device?

Apple released iOS 8 on 17th Sept. but lot of people face problem before downloading update on their device because they don't have much space left in their device, which forces them to delete their aaps to make space for the download.

Before we look into the solution let as know why apple update requires 4-5 GB of space on your device when the update file size is only 900 MB or 1 GB.

This is because the update file is in compressed form. After the download gets over the device extract the compressed file which require 4-5 GB of space. But don't worry you don't loose your user usable space on your device. After update is complete you get your space back.

So how to update phone without deleting your existing apps??

Here is the solution,

Step 1: Go to the iTunes apps on your Mac or Pc. (Your laptop must have latest version of iTunes. If               you don't have latest iTunes then first update your iTunes)

Step 2: Connect your device to the laptop and wait for iTunes to recognize your device.

Step 3: iTunes will prompt you automatically for the update of your phone. If it doesn't then then                     press 'Check for update' on the summary screen of the iTunes.

Step 4: Enjoy your update.

Here the iTunes extract the compressed file on your laptop so it doesn't require much of free space on your device. But remember to keep at lease 1 GB free space on your device before proceeding for the update. for any doubt and query comment down below.
